Winter Haven, FL.
On August
13, Hurricane Charley, leaving havoc in its wake, raced through
Winter Haven and on up to Orlando. Hundreds of trees were uprooted,
electricity was out and the landscape was changed forever. Frances
arrived two weeks later, taking up where Charley left off.
Then
Jeanne arrived . . .
Winter Haven
took a direct hit from Hurricane Jeanne and this time Lake Silver,
site of the Blairfoot Bananza, suffered.
Trees are
down, docks are under water making it too dangerous to hold
the competition.
We are devastated
by the hurricane's impact and by the need to cancel this year's
Bananza.
Please accept
our deepest regrets. Hope to see many of you on the water soon!

Sue, Steve, Chris Smith
and
the entire Blairfoot Committee
